The Session:
First and most important rule is to have fun in the session. Let loose and be yourself. I try to capture personality by those little looks your child is known for, and creating memories to have an image that will freeze them at that time in their life. I love candid shots, and I try not to force a smile but to visit and play around with them to make them feel comfortable and relaxed. Moms that are in the pictures, I will assure you to put you in the most flattering poses to make you look your best!
The session Fee includes photographer's time and travel, talent and creativity. Professional editing of the best 20-50 images. Unlimited shots, and basic re-touching, and choices of black & white, retro, and other finishes, crops and styles. I also provide an online proofing gallery slideshow to share with your friends and family. Custom storyboards and composites will be designed for you to view along with your images to create a one of a kind piece of art! Session fee covers up to 2 hours and four family members. Additional $10 fee will be added for each individual person added to the session. You are welcome to have unlimited wardrobe change as well.
Session fee is non-refundable and is due 2 weeks before to hold your date.
Newborn sessions can take up to 4 hours. They will not be rushed. I like to allow time for breaks and feeding. The atmosphere will be calm, warm and relaxed. I like to photgraph newborns in their first 10 days to capture their tiny features. As you know they don't stay newoborn size for very long. They are such a treasure to have and look back on. I recomend booking the session one week before you are due to make sure you have an appointment.
Once your session is scheduled you will recieve a welcome package via email, or mail. This will have all the info you will need for your session. Along with a contract, print order form and model release.
Once the photos are ready you will be able to view a slideshow gallery that you can pick your favorites and place your order. Your order must be placed within two weeks. Once payment is made we will order your prints from a professional printing lab and will notify you when they are ready.
LOCATIONS:
I can help determine what style of portraits you are seeking. Whether it's a park-like setting with gardens and landscape, A country setting with wide open fields, long fence lines, barns, Or a fun and modern urban setting. This is great for seniors / teens to show off their colorful personalities. Downtown with train tracks, grafitti, side streets with textures and design. We can even do the session in the comfort of your own home. Showcase your favorite setting, room, fireplace or nursery to have a custom portrait. Or I can provide you with a traditional studio setting with a timeless look. I have neutral backdrops and unique props. Look through my galleries to see examples of some of my favorite locations.
What to Wear:
To guide you in the right directions for a timeless portrait try to stick with solid colors, and neutral patterns. It helps to coordinate a family portrait with that in mind. It is best to avoid big logos or anything that can be too distracting. It can take away from the portrait and setting. Hats, scarves, jewelery, leg warmers (for young kids and babies), or any other fun accessory will add so much personality, texture and style to a picture.
For newborns I have a variety of blankets, crochet hats, baskets and bowls. I prefer to photograph newborns with out clothes, wrapped in blankets to show off their tiny body. I also provide a space heater to keep the baby warm and sleepy through out the session.
